CSS Conference
CSS biennial international conference in Scandinavian Studies
One of the objectives of CSS is to promote the collaboration between Scandinavian or Nordic-oriented institutions the world over and initiate cross-national research projects in Scandinavian studies. To that end, every other year CSS organize an international conference in Scandinavian Studies at Lund university.
The first conference took place in June, 2017 and had the theme "Rethinking Scandinavia", and the second in May 2019 with the theme "Scandinavian Languages and Literatures in the World – Prospects and Challenges". The most recent conference was postponed until August 2022, due to the Covid 19 pandemic, and took place in both Lund and Copenhagen. You can read more about them by clicking on the links below.

CSS and IASS conference coordination
As CSS is in close collaboration with the International Association for Scandinavian Studies (IASS), both of our conference schedules is arranged in such a way as to never coincide with each other. Instead, the aim is that our organizations together will provide the international community of Scandinavian Studies with an opportunity to meet every year. One year in Scandinavia, in Lund/Copenhagen. And the next, somewhere else in the world of Scandinavian Studies.
